Born in Deweyville, Utah, Carol W. Madsen has been mastering
her art skills since she was a little girl. As a child, she watched and
imitated her cousin, an accomplished artist, who lived next door. Her strong
interest in oil painting drew her into taking lessons from Doyle Strong at Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. She also attended the Art Barn at the University of Utah. She married and raised five children in Ogden, Utah while pursuing a career in Financial Management at Hill Air Force Base where she held the distinct honor of being one of first thirty people involved in the construction of the famous F-16 Aircraft. She retired from Hill in the early 1990’s and returned to her first love, “oil painting”. Carol and her husband have traveled all around the lower 48 and Mexico as full time RVer’s. Many of her paintings depict the places they visited. Portraits are her most enjoyable projects and her skill of being able to capture the real essence of the subject is a gift. Many awards and honors have been bestowed upon Carol over the years. Carol and her husband now reside in Longview, Washington. She can be reached at 360-577-6135 or 360 270-9971 |
