I was originally inspired to begin painting in 1992 when I saw a woman painting a picture of the Columbia River Gorge while sitting in a field of wildflowers on the Rowena Plateau. I told myself, “I want to do that.” I was also inspired by my love for color and what one
watercolor does when it mixes with another. I’ve taken lessons for the past twelve years, but last year changed to painting on my own with small weekly painting group. While taking lessons I studied under Vancouver artists Elaine Dubé and Lee Baughman and have taken workshops from Tom Lynch and Portland artists Gene Gill and Elise Wagner. My work can be seen at my office/studio at 2407 Main Street in downtown Vancouver where I run a graphic design and print brokering business during the day and paint whenever I can fit it in.
